Changzhou ECCO Roll Co., Ltd., established in 2005, is a Sino-British joint venture with a total investment of US$10 million and a registered capital of US$8 million, situated in the Wujin Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province.
Adhering to modern management principles, the company employs mature technologies and advanced production equipment to provide specialised services for the rapidly developing global metal rolling industry. Its core business encompasses the professional manufacture of forged steel rolls for cold rolling of steel, aluminium and copper, alongside guillotine blades, complemented by advanced heat treatment and machining services.
Since commencing operations in May 2006, the company has completed both Phase I and Phase II construction, with cumulative investments exceeding RMB 100 million. Its machining centre and heat treatment facility are equipped with large-scale CNC grinding machines, milling machines, lathes, and dual-frequency submerged quenching machines, representing leading domestic technological standards. The company currently employs 128 staff, including 25 technical professionals holding college diplomas or higher qualifications. Furthermore, it has established industry-academia-research collaborations with several renowned domestic research institutions and universities, laying a solid foundation for the continuous recruitment of high-calibre talent and joint development of new products and technologies.
In 2010, the company initiated its third-phase development plan. During this period, its "widest-gauge aluminium plate cold-rolling work roll" technology was granted a national patent. The company was designated a "Nationally Encouraged Foreign Investment Project" by the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission and awarded the title of "Jiangsu Provincial High-Tech Enterprise". To expand production capacity, the company constructed a new 15,000-square-metre production workshop, installed large-scale processing equipment, and assembled an experienced R&D team. It is dedicated to manufacturing high-end products such as high-speed steel rolls and large high-chromium medium-carbon forged steel support rolls for domestic strip rolling mills, aiming to replace imports and rapidly increase its market share both domestically and internationally.
